And this heart just breaks every time I hear of another family or individual having to relinquish their pets because of financial hardships. A hugely important cause you have chosen! Some suggestions: you mention Dad's office; I've known of some office workers who spent the money on pet supplies to donate, rather than doing the usual holiday secret santa thing. The holidays are past, but perhaps his coworkers would be interested in donating anyway for needy pets. Groups such as Junior clubs, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops love to participate in special drives, perhaps you could enlist their help. Some local businesses might be willing to provide a spot for a drop-off box for donations. "Ask and ye shall receive" seems to be the answer to this kind of situation - you'd be surprised how many will step forward to help in whatever way they can. While we can't change the misfortunes of some of our neighbors, we can still do something to make things a little easier for them. And keeping their pets with them is the best solution! Best wishes with your plans -

Thank you for blogging and being the change for animals,
Kim Thomas
BtC4Animals.com
CindyLu's MuseKimThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05154456095628728984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609638011357301370.post-56410456698385055202012-01-15T22:23:59.174-05:002012-01-15T22:23:59.174-05:00What a wonderful thing, I am going to see if such ...What a wonderful thing, I am going to see if such a thing exists around here that can be supported! We have a couple of pet food banks here that we donate to.
With our new pug rescue, mom is trying to start a special fund within the organization to help pay vet bills so people don't have to give up their pets because of an illness. That way, people could still keep their pugs and the pugs could get the health care they need. The details aren't worked out yet, but it might be a grant situation or a loan.Southern Fried Pugshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02690807430103140696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6609638011357301370.post-17255172871950676042012-01-15T21:12:33.524-05:002012-01-15T21:12:33.524-05:00What a great idea Wilma.
