My Chewy Review

Hi friends! A few weeks ago, we heard from our friends over at Chewy.com. They were looking for members of their blogger program to do a review for one of the many tasty products they carry.

Some of you may remember that we have been using Chewy.com for about a year now. Ever since we reviewd the site last Summer. They bring us our delicious Honest Kitchen Preference base mix whenever we start running low. It's like magic!

I was all over checking out some new treats, so I took a look at the options with Mom.

I chose Orijen Alberta Wild Boar variety.

Let me tell you, they couldn't have come at a better time. Mom had been giving us dried pineapple chunks for treats. I mean, they are OK, but these freeze dried chunks of deliciousness are unbelievably scrumptious!!!

They are so tasty in fact, I started running back outside after getting one for doing my business, so I could get another when I came back in.

What's great about them is there is only one ingredient. That is good for Sluggo because he has such a sensitive little belly. The other thing is that these boar lived good lives out on the free range.

Brigitte had her dental not long after we received the bag of treats. I was psyched because I figured more for me, since she could only have soft food. I was wrong. Mom just easily crushed them op small for her, and Brigitte got some too.

The only thing wrong with these treats is that they are all gone. I am going to have Mom start adding them to our Chewy.com auto ship order, so we never run out!

Stay tuned, there is a very special Birthday coming up this week!

Greetings From Blizzard Central

Hi everyone!!! Now that I have had my humans held captive for nearly five days straight, I have been able to get Mom to finally post something for my eagerly awaiting friends.

As anyone who hasn't been stuck in a kennel without access to TV knows, there was a huge blizzard up in my neck of the woods. We are all fine. We were very lucky not to have lost any power, and to have been stocked up on treats before the storm hit. In fact, The Honest Kitchen hooked us up with some awesome treats, and we will be reviewing the tasty morsels before long!

No, that is not me frolicking in the snow up top. That is our pal TJ. He has really turned out to be quite an wonderful house guest.  I will be sorry to see him go., but I heard talk of a meet and greet with an awesome pug loving lady that is supposed to take place later this week. She has a girl dog and she works from home. TJ will really love that, because let me tell you, he does not like it when Mom leaves the room, let alone the house.
Here he is following her right out into the blizzard!!!

Here he is helping her post.

The thing is though, that TJ will soon be moving on. We have done our best to fix him up, and get him ready to set sail to his forever home. He went to see my Vet this past week, and they did some stuff to his boy parts. they took out a bunch of his teeth, and he only has 3 left!! He still manages to get the job done come mealtime!

It won"t be the same around here without him, even Sluggo has grown to really like him.

TJ, Sluggo, Brigitte and me

We will keep you posted on his potential new Mom, and stay tuned to hear about these scrumptious treats we got from The Honest Kitchen. Of course, how can they go wrong? We already know what an amazing job their food does to keep us happy and healthy. TJ was like a new pug within 2 short weeks of eating it!!

One more thing...
There is a certain favorite parent celebrating a birthday tomorrow. He and Mom were hurting for some sweets during the blizzard, so she baked his cake early.

Happy Birthday Dad!!!!!

Review ~ Mr Chewy

Hi friends! A few weeks back, a fellow from Mr Chewy contacted me, and asked if I would like to write an honest review on their service. He offered me a code to spend at the site on whatever I would like. I thought to myself, I am always honest, and I get to order from their site any food or treats I like. I am always hungry! Win, win!

We took a look around the site, and liked a lot of the products they offer. I wanted to order treats, but old thumbs was being practical and ordered food. They carry the kind of food we eat, Honest Kitchen, so that was pretty cool. They also have prescription pet food if that's what you need. The prices were very reasonable.

One of the things I liked about the site, was that it was easy to navigate. I also liked that they stick to the basics. Mr Chewy offers quality stuff for dogs and cats to eat, treats and food, and stuff for them to use when its time to get rid of what they eat, potty pads and litter. They also carry flea and tick medication. That's it! So we didn't get all caught up in clicking through pages and pages of other stuff.

We placed our order late in the day, and Mom couldn't believe it when the box was right on our door step when she got home from work the following day! Not only that, but they offer free 1-2 day shipping on orders over 50 bucks! This quick service is great for us, because Mom does everything last minute. For the love of pug, we could have starved to death if the food didn't arrive so quickly.

One draw back was that the product we ordered was older than what we get from our local store. It was still fresh, and far from expired, but I like to choose the newest box when I goes to the store.
The convenience of having it delivered right to door is pretty attractive.

Overall, we are very pleased with our experience with Mr Chewy, and we would recommend it to you all, if you were searching for an online source for food and treats.

In fact, we are including a code for you to enter if you would like to try them out. It is part of their referral program . Two things I like about the referral program are that you, meaning YOU, can receive 10% off your first order, and for every order they receive via the referral, they will donate to one of three charities of my choice. I chose North Shore Animal League as I am most familiar with the good work they do. But, I can change my mind anytime, and I can also split the donation between the three choices.

Here's the code

KHAN6158

I imagine you enter it at checkout like most offer codes.

So Much to Tell, So Little Time ~ so let's do a giveaway!

Hi! Whew! I don't know about you guys, but the humans around here have been running around like a bunch of fools all month. Seems to be an annual event. Either way, there are definitely some things I don't want let slide. One of those things being, telling you about the TASTY treats the lady over at Pawmetto sent for us to review. The bag came in the mail just a couple short weeks ago, and we made quick work of taste testing. So quick in fact, that we didn't stop long enough to do any photo documentation. Don't worry though, Mom got plenty of shots of me devouring the last of the crumbs tonight.

We received the Chicken Liver Treat variety. They come in beef and lamb as well. I can tell you without hesitation, that these liver treats were de-licious! Those of you who know me may be thinking, well you pugs will eat anything. That is pretty much true, however, even our non standard pug Sluggo liked them. He's like Mikey. You know.... let's get Mikey

Not only did they send us a bag of these lovely treats, but they also offered to provide a bag to our readers!
How cool is that?!

Here I am, finishing off the bag, while other pugs look on with envy... hehehehehehe

So here's the deal. If you would like to win a bag of Pawmetto treats of your very own, just leave a comment on this post. We'll go until Sunday at midnight. Then Monday I'll have Mom run your entries through randomizer.

I'm going to do another give away related to last weeks safety post from Morton Salt and the ASPCA, but I'll save the deets for another post.

I do also want to let you all know, that I went for my eye follow up the other day, and the ulcer is healed. They are still putting the antibiotic ointment in the eye, but I also get one of my PK meds back. Plus, I get another trip down to Norwalk with Mom on the heated seat!.

I thought about going in the garden, because, well you know, I can. But I was so pleased with the good report, I thought better of it.

OK people, that's all for now. Don't want to overwhelm you with all the details of my fabulous life, but I will be back soon to share more!

Treats!

So Puglet has requested some no-recipe recipes, for a little something he and his human are putting together. So I says Mom, let's do this. I will be the taste tester.
We set out to work.

One of the criteria is that the ingredients include stuff from around the kitchen, so we raided the cabinets and came up with the collection of goodies from above. Then threw in some shredded carrots at the end.

Mom has these cute little bone and fire hydrant shaped cookie cutters, so she was hoping to come up with a recipe she could roll out.

That didn't pan out...

While tasty, the bone shape didn't quite translate.

This is when things got a little out of hand.
I take no responsibility for what transpired next. All I can say is that they still tasted good.

There was giggling. There was hesitation. There was a "No, we couldn't!" and " It would be funny"
Next thing I know batch two is coming out of the oven and they look like...are you ready for it? DOOTS!

So many shades of wrong.

So. if your inclined, pop on over to Puglet's and send him some socially acceptable un-recipes.

Sadly,  we have failed that mission.

Shopping Extravaganza

In order to prepare for our New Years Eve party, we needed to do some shopping first.
So off we headed to my Agway.
I say my Agway because I have been going there for nearly 10 years now. Everyone knows and loves me.
And I love them.
Not only do they fill my cart with lots of yummy and fun items, but they have treats behind the counter.
I get them on demand!

I typically play it cool, but Brigitte can barely contain herself.

Mom and Dad had already procured our Angus ground sirloin from the butcher for our special dinner, but we needed our regular kibble too.
It was on sale!

"Hmmmm, I will take a 50 lb bag, and whatever the others are having"

Then it was off to the toys and treats!

So many to choose from.

The parents weren't on board to pick up a years supply, so we just picked one.

"What's that I smell?"

"How about some bones?"

"Yes, chicken bites, definitely chicken bites!"

With our supplies safely procured, it was time to head home.
Way to start the new year!

And the Winner Is

As promised I will be giving away a bag of tasty treats to one of you fabulous friends for being so supportive of my Auntie in her contest.

One of you lucky dogs will soon be enjoying some of these...

So, how we decided to choose the winner was to have Mom write every ones name down on a sheet of paper.

then she tore the names into strips and wrapped them each around cheese!

We locked Sluggo, Brigitte and Dad in the other room,

and this is what happened next

Then, everyone busted out of the back room, so we let them stay for the reveal...

OK, so Mom really hates trying to upload videos.

For whatever reason she has been unsucessful for the past hour in uploading the proper video that reveals the winner.

Inside the paper was Minnie Moo's name. Brigitte got really excited and was barking, and we all got a piece of cheese.

Congratulations Minnie Moo!

Now be sure to have your Mom e-mail mine your address so we can send you your treats.

Thanks again everyone!

Brigitte's Bounty of Bellatrix's Birthday Booty!!!

Hi Everybody, This is Brigitte here with you today, and have I got some unbelievable booty to tell you about!

Thanks to Wilma for letting me post about it today.

On Saturday, when we got home from our meet up, there was a package waiting for me on the step. That's right, for ME, Brigitte.
It was from my girl Bellatrix!

I had won her Birthday Booty Giveaway last week, and here it was!

Bellatrix is so generous, she wanted to share her celebration with her friends. I was the lucky one to receive this bodacious bounty.

So we went in the house and I had to get started right away investigating the package.

Everyone was real interested in what was inside the box.

Whatever it was in there, it smelled out of this world!

This is what Mom got out of the box for me....

but I knew...

There was something more in there...

I could smell it

Huckle Buckle Beanstalk!!!

I found a bully!!!

and one for Sluggo...

nom, nom, nom,

and, one for Wilma!

but where is she?

She immediately ran down the hall into the tv room with hers!

"Do you mind?!"

Plus, hiding in the box was this!

A lambie!

It's a piggo, and Sluggo has a real passion for piggos

So,after seeing how much he loved it,

I decided to let him keep it.

Mmmmm....heaven

The best part, is that we never get these kind of treats, cuz we tend to fight over them.Everyone was so excited about their own personal bully, that we didn't seem to care about anyone else.

I think Bella may have brought cow parts back into our world!

Thank you Bellatrix!
The only thing is that because we don't usually get these things...

I don't know what the flat things are. Other than they make Sluggo fart real stinkers.

Are they some of the thing you gave to Puglet, Bella?

Here is a video, showing how much I love my booty.

Thank you Bellatrix!!!!
