End of the Week Catch Up

Hi friends. Tonight's post is going to contain a conglomeration of stuff collected over the past couple weeks. I am grabbing Mom, while I have her, to help me post.
She's been doing vacation penance by working all week, and everything turned to sh*t while she was gone.
Well, not exactly everything, but, her little Sluggy bee was sick this week. He's feeling better now, after going to see the vet and getting some medicine. But, I think he kinda just fell apart after being together with everybody all day, every day to then everyone leaving and going back to work.

Turns out the little guy got a bad ear and face fold infection.

Dad stayed home and took care of bringing him to the vet, and Mom came home with this...

a Sluggy bee hive!

Brigitte thinks the bees make good pillows.

Speaking of Britte, I know I did wish her a Happy Britteday on the first, but I want to let you all know, that, that old bird actually swam on her Birthday. Yup, she went down to the beach at high tide and went out in the water with Mom, Dad and Auntie. She was kicking around, and plunking her paws in the water. I can't lie. I am pretty proud of her, and happy for her too. I think we should buy a house on the beach somewhere that's warm all year, just so she can swim every day. Dontcha think?!

So, our  Sunflower Sister memorial sunflower did some major league growing over the past couple of weeks.

I noticed something odd though.

I did catch Sluggo " fertilizing" the sunflower over the Summer...

You think?...

P-town Part Deux ~ Dad's Faux Pas

check out Britte's twiddle feet!

When we weren't out carousing in the streets, eating fabulous meals or sunbathing at the beach, we did spend some time enjoying the lovely accommodations at our beach house.
One of which was a somewhat comprehensive a/v package.

One of the first attempts at viewing turned out to be somewhat of a challenge.
Grammy was trying to check out the latest episode of Say Yes to the Dress, and was having a hard time with the remote. I think everyone had tried to figure it out, when Dad decided to try his hand at it.
Allow me to paint a more detailed picture for your minds eye...

Grammy Grampy, Mom, Dad, Auntie & Uncle milling about getting ready for their day, when across the screen flashes something like this...

Only, there was an announcement on the screen for the upcoming feature titled....

"Drilling MILF Holes"

Now, I am not exactly sure what a MILF hole is, or what it takes to drill one, but apparently, it isn't something you want to do around your parents and siblings.
I say this because all of a sudden Dad had flung himself onto the couch in a hysterical fit of laughter and there were a whole lot of OMGs!!!! and Holy craps being exclaimed.

I'm pretty sure it was funny though because everyone was turning red and laughing like hyenas.

This next picture is for my girls. See, I am allowing Sluggo to post a picture for the Fire Hydrant Fellows that he is all proud of, so we need a check and balance system here.

We went to the Provincetown Bark Park one morning for a run around. It is a really cool park that was created through the kindness of the locals and local business and is run totally through donations. If I lived there I would plant some more trees though. If you don't get there early, it can be hot. I think it probably gets a lot more use during the cooler months as most of the dogs I saw were on the beach.
Nevertheless, we had a great time.

Here is an example of the signage at the park for the big and little dog area. See that pug, cute huh? Me and Mom went into the gallery where the artist's work is. She was not there at the time, but the lady we talked to said that she has a gaggle of rescued pugs herself. We looked at examples of her work done from photos. They are beautiful. We discussed commissioning pieces for me and the other two. They start at 750.00 for a 12"x12". Not sure if there are enough green papers in the kibble jar for that. Maybe if we win the lottery!

Dad says it looks like Brigitte is sending me to the brig, but I was only hopping up to follow the advice on the plaque.
you may have to biggify to read
OK, OK Sluggo! Your picture is next. Geesh!

There were lots and lots of engraved bricks all around the park. Sluggo was so excited to find this one, he posed for a picture for his boys.

Here are a few more I liked...

There was a nice area for people to sit and remember their friends at the rainbow bridge too.

we will try and finish up sharing vacation adventures this week. Mom is about to embark on a stretch of double that will put the glorious days at the beach far into her memory!

Our Week on the CApe ~ we came, we saw, I pooped

Warning, heavy vacation picture post. But you should definitely stick around for the stories

Wow, we've arrived home from the Cape, and boy do I need a vacation!

I mean, I did manage to get in a lot of relaxation time. However, we also squeezed a lot of life into our family retreat.

The week started out kinda radical. Sluggo had his typical "floor issues".

"Wah, it's too shiny"

Then Mom and Dad thought they were going to fling me down Commercial st in Britte's hooptie! WTF!

My people can't see me slummin' it.

Of course, she opened with her typical goody two paws act.

Don't worry, she canceled out all the good in just 5 short hours by being a total jerk on the ride home today.

Of course, me being me, I have no need to impress with good behavior. I had my traditional ass crack of dawn wake up calls.
They looked something like this from the parental perspective...

" I'm up, let's go! Get up!"

As long as we are on the subject of my stellar performance, allow me to share a real gem.

It was yesterday morning. I knew my time was limited if I wanted to create an instant classic. When I awoke, it came to me.... a prank so awesome, that it will be talked about for years to come.

It was clear to me, that everyone was pretty soft from the former evenings activities. Easy marks.
I started out by charming everyone with my coquettish ways.

I sauntered across the hall where I could hear Auntie stirring. Then, I took a preliminary stroll around the bedroom to case the joint.
He,he, Auntie was sweet talking to me. She thought I was there just to spread some love. Once she went into the bathroom, I slipped back out onto the landing where I was acting so cute, Mom took my picture...

Perfect, I had lulled them all into a false sense of security.
It was then that I took my golden opportunity and crept back into the bedroom, where I thought Uncle was asleep.

Apparantly, I was wrong on that account.
As he tells it, he heard three sounds. One, the clink of my collar.
Two, some grunting sounds, and finally, what sounded like someone dropping marbles on the floor.
Then, Auntie returned, at which time Uncle exclaimed, "great idea, letting Wilma in here"

I think it is safe to say that at this juncture, I am a lock for the coal at this years Christmas festivities. It was totally worth it!

There was much more fun had this week, and tomorrow I will share with you a story that will put my Dad in a close second to me for the coal! In the meantime, a couple more of my favorite shots from the week.

Out on the skip for my morning jog.

Brigitte joins me

Sluggo, out ahead of the pack!

Concert in the Park

Hi there! This is Sluggo again.I guess part of Wilma's return to being the tough as nails diva that she is, is to delegate, delegate, delegate.

Why else would she let me post in her blog twice in one week?

Well, whatever the reason, I am very excited to tell you about my special day on Sunday.

That guy in the picture up there laying next to me is my bromantic partner Oscar.

We went to a concert together with his brother Max.

Plus one of my favorite small humans was there,
Ella!

her and I have a special connection...

She took me on lots of walks, and to meet other small humans, mostly of the female persuasion.
The little girls love me, and I love them.

I felt like a rock star!

But the only real rock star who was there was my Dad!

I was really into the show, he played an acoustic set of [insert name of popular 60's band with a huge following of hippies and the like who's lead singer died 15 years ago, I think his name was Jerry].

Dad might get upset if  word of this gig got out. I guess these sets are pretty exclusive. He hadn't played these tunes probably since around the time  the fat man kicked the bucket.
I didn't care, I was mesmerised, and couldn't take my eyes off of him.

You may have noticed the conspicuous absence of two particular Sunflower Sisters that I live with. Well, it's because they weren't there.
They were at their vacation home at Grammy and Grampy's house.

They were luxuriating in the A/C as the heat and humidity were a little too much for the old...er...uh, I mean delicate flowers.
Wilma says be sure and check in soon. She received her first award and can't wait to tell you about it.
Have a great weekend.

My Beach ~ Variation on a Lobster Theme and, I'm So Over It

As if I needed any more confirmation that it's all about me. Sure enough, when we go down to the beach right by our house what is growing right there in the sand?

That's right a sunflower.I mean, really? Did somebody call ahead and inform P-town of my arrival?

Come on over here my Sunflower Sister

Yup...Sunflower Beach. I shoulda known.
It is good to be me.
Girls, do I smell a new location for Summer Camp?

Plus, we can get ice cream every day...

where else, but at  Twist'd Sisters?
(that's what it says on the cone, bad angle)

So, I'll be wrapping up my P-town recap today and I want you to know that First Mate Sluggo isn't the only pug with an appreciation for lobster in this family...

I think I make a way better lobster too...

With all the fun we had, I must admit that by the end of the week, this is how I felt when Mom took out that blasted camera.
Don't blink, or you'll miss it!

Wilma's Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"Pugs aren't like dogs, they are more like cocktail guests"

Aside from coming away from The Cape fully understanding why Provincetown was named #1 Dogtown USA by Dog Fancy Magazine, I also received one of the most  brilliant pieces of wisdom I have ever heard.

We pugs know that we are a little different from other dogs. But, when I ever heard one of the multitudes of pug fans I met last week liken us to cocktail guests, I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it myself.

I mean, it suits us perfectly.
So, when I saw these cocktail napkins at this cute little shop called Drinkx on Commercial St. I just had to get them.

You know no party is complete without a pug, so be sure to spread the word.

So, while I can not call them my words of wisdom, I would be remiss if  I did not share this observation with the world.

Mint Julep anyone?
Where is our mixologist?!
