Best of the Web ~ Oh yeah, that's right

Good day friends. A while back I was approached by a guy who highlights different blogs on his blog. He wanted to feature me on his site in the feature "Best of the Web".

Naturally, my interest was piqued. He asked that Mom write a few words about the blog, and why she agreed to start helping me write it. I said OK to that, and we were featured there a few weeks back. I would have told you sooner, but I was hoping that my publicist Mom would remind me to look for it.

Here is a link to my post on Best of the Web #36.
I am the fourth, of four highlighted authors. Just like on American Idol, they saved the best for last!

So, when Brigitte was checking out the Pocketchange site, she noticed that all the first letter in all the individual blogs is B. Like Be Green , Beloved Pets and Be Beautiful.
She wondered aloud why they would be more interested in me than in her, seeing as she is the epitome of B.
B-poop, B-complex, Vigilant B to name a few.

All I could tell her was, It's good to be queen.

I must admit though, 2 heads are better than one.

without B, I wouldn't be nearly as great!

Aw Shucks

Hi Peoples, Sluggo here

I wanna thank Wilma for lettin' me come on the blog to talk to you all today.
The reason I asked, was because I wanted to thank my bro Murphy, and tell you all about the awesome post he did. The post is all about my life before I came to live with Wilma and Brigitte.
He even put pictures of my biological Mom Chole and my 2 sisters from when we were just born.
If you would like to hear all about my story and see some majorly cute puppy pictures go on over to see at It's a Pug's Life.

Back to you Wilma...

Anytime Sluggo

What a Weekend~ Pug Saturday, Real Dog Sunday, and a Power Outage

Boy am I tired.
Saturday was our meet-up. This is always exciting because we get to see all of our friends.
As we were leaving, this is what was going on at the bird feeder...

Can you believe this guy? He was climbing up the shepherds hook and leaping onto the feeder, pushing up the roof, climbing in and filling his fat little cheeks to capacity.
This feeder was completely empty by the time we got home.
Poor birds. Dad put up a sturdier one today.

It was raining when we got to the meet up so we had to go inside.I would complain, but we haven't had rain in a long time.

First off, I saw my pal Duke for the first time since the coin incident.
Ninety five cents  to be exact.
He's doing fine, healing well.

I had a little talk with him and he promised not to eat any more money. I told him, not unless he can poop out enough to pay the vet bill.
Since Duke was there, that means Sluggo's foster brother (and my boyfriend) Murphy was there too.

Look IzZulA! Murphy is a dogpire, isn't he dreamy?

Then a new guy came. A rescue named Piglet

                                  Piglet                                                Sluggo

Sluggo had to check him out mug to mug.
He was the spittin' image of Sluggo

Brigitte made a friend, she always does. She is such a people pug.

This is Delilah. We like to call her Deli Meats.
She is a rescue too. She was found in a junk yard in Los Angeles.
She has a great life now.

Here is Kimi. She's a little spitfire, weighing in at about 15lbs.
She is always  fun to hang with.

A bunch more of our friends were there too, plus we had our nails did.
Here's Brigitte on the way home, this is her tired look

On to Sunday...
This morning we had visitors. Dad's friends came over with their "real dogs" for a visit and a hike in the forest near our house. They even have real dog names. Buddy and Rusty.

That's Buddy. He was rescued from the mean streets of  Detroit. He is a very sweet boy who is extremely loyal to his dad.
Brigitte is especially fond of the big dogs, as you may remember.
(Note me in the background being all nonchalant)

There is Rusty. You can see Sluggo is very
excited to have the big boys around.

He was leaping all about. Prancing here and prancing there.

Here he is playing king of the picnic table.

So,we have all this activity, it's hot, we're tired, and then what happens?
Total shut down.
I guess quite a few people were in our same position for about 3 hours.
Then the power came back on, just as it was really starting to heat up.
That was cool, for about an hour. Then, wah wah, lights out again.
What ever the problem is, the power company better figure it out, my delicate system cannot be without comfort for much longer.

How was your weekend?

Did you have any adventures?
I would love to hear about them.

Pearls Quiz

First, we would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the folks over at Pug Posse. They had to bid farewell to one of their beloved pugs Jasmine. Our hearts go out to them at this most sad time.

What a great idea Pearl. We had alot of fun answering your quiz. We love learning all the little details about our friends.
One thing, Mom can't seemto fix this cockamamie white backgroud nonsense. So she's giving up, and posting as is.
THE BASICS

1.) Name and Age:
 Wilma~ AKC Liberty Roosevelt Wilhelmina - 9

Brigitte- 91/2

Sluggo - 3

2.) Breed:
W- Pug

B-Chug (chihuahua/pug)

S-Pug

3.) Nickname(s):

As you may know, I posted a blog on this. There are many, I will share a few here. Some of the ones we missed from the post...

Wilma - Willy D,Wilzy, Grilzy, What the Hellma, Wil,

Brigitte - Britte, Brigilent P, Sweet  Britte, Breedletons Mc Gee,  Brigilly P, B-poop, Bea, B- complex, Vigilent B

Sluggo - Sir Slugs D Pugs, Sluggy B, Bubie, Slugoyovich, Mommy's Little Boyovich, Poop stick, Chesty Chico, Chicola

4.) Where'd ya come from?

W- Sisnben. Otherwise known as Anna Benedetto, a breeder from here in Connecticut. I have champion lines and I'm not afraid to brag about it.

B- First I lived with my "breeder" for a year. Then, for 2 years I lived with a family in eastern CT. They had 3 short people,2 tall people,a cat,and a Labrador. I was a little too much to handle I guess. After that, I came to my true home, I never looked back.

S- My Mom was abandoned in an apartment in Yonkers New York. She was rescued by Curly Tail Rescue and Samantha fostered her. I was born to Chole along with 2 sisters. Sam  is a friend of Mom and Dads. When I was 16 weeks old, and they were having a hard time finding appropriate people for me, Sam appealed to Mom & Dad. The rest, as they say, is history.

FAVORITES

1.) Toy:
W- I don't really do toys anymore. Every now and again I will get up and steal one from Sluggo or Brigitte, just to remind 'em who's boss. I used to love a nice carrot bone, but ever since Sluggo came around, I just get to agressive when bones are in the picture. So they are a rare, solitary treat.

B- I used to be the number one lambie queen before Sluggo came. Now I am more of a lambie whisperer. I speak through them. If  I am hungry or need to go out, I 'll grab one and start shaking it all around.

S- currently I am enamored with a nasty old half stuffed loofa dog. I must have him if  I am to lay down and relax. At the end of the day, I like to have meetings with several together. I gather them one at a time to total 4 or 5.

2.) Snack:

W-cheese

B- poop

S- I acquired a passion for whipped cream after Penny went over the bridge and I got to taste it for the first time. Now Mom gives me secret whippy.

3.) Human person:

W- I am my own person. I prefer my company to all others. However, since I was a gift to my Daddy from Mom, I do tend to snuggle up to him, when I'm in the mood.

B- my mommy, my mommy, my mommy, my mommy

S- No, she's MY MOMMY, MY MOMMY, MY MOMMY, MY MOMMY

FUNNY STUFF

1.) Worst habit:

W- Simple, don't have any

B- I tend to freak out in the car

S- peeing in the house when Mom leaves without my permission

2.) Most embarrassing moment:

W- Everything I do is great. I don't have any reason to be embarrased

B- Pulling up in the lobby of Dad's new office and dropping logs

S-when my lipstick tube came out while I was sitting on Great Grammys lap

3.) Family dynamic (this is a question for those of you with more than one animal in the house. i.e. who is alpha? who is the cuddler? who is the naughty one? etc. I just want to know how you fit into the family!)
W- Number one pug, snuggle when I want, and I'm good at it. Naughty at times, for good reason. My personality is enormous and everyone adores me.

B- I'm the socialite. When I was first introduced to the extended family, I made a point to go around and greet everyone. I am the good girl, I tattle on everyone.

S- I'm the baby. A little bit crazy and loveable beyond belief

4.) Your humans' FAVORITE thing about you!:

Mom here:
Wilma has an inate ability to know what you need. She can be aloof and obnoxious, but when the chips are down, she's right there with a quirky little antic to cheer you up. She makes the best sleeping noises, and her facial expressions can mimick human emotion.

Brigitte is the sweetest girl you will ever know. She has the most expressive photogenic face. Her Dad thinks her profile resembles that of a Dodge Ram.

Sluggo is the most sensitive and sweet boy. He is my first boy dog, and he is attached to my heels. In the morning when he knows I am waking up, he climbs on my chest and lays across me with the most mournful look. Like "you're not really going to get up are you?" I love the way he flops around his lambies at night as he is winding down, eventually falling asleep with his whole mouth wrapped around it.

A Brief Introduction

Hi, as you see in my profile I am Wilma. I had my Mom create this blog for me tonight, and I told her we should at least make our first post. There will be plenty of time to get to know me in future posts, because I live a very luxurious and exciting life. I thought it would be interesting to note that today for the first time, I heard my Dad telling my Mom that I never cry for anything. You see Brigitte, she needs some help getting around sometimes and she has a need to be at my Moms feet constantly. So if she needs a lift down off the couch, or my Mommy is in the basement, cleaning my laundry, she cries. Then there's the baby, Sluggo. He's always whining about something. To be let into a room containing his lambie (toy) of the moment, to have a stray kibble that's out of his reach retrieved. I don't whine, cry or beg. I don't need to. I demand!! If there's something I want, I will simply command it. I have several different voices I use to get their attention depending on what it is that I want. As it says in my profile, I also use my mind to control my parents. I trained them a long time ago, and simply by staring into their eyes, I convey what I want and they are compelled to provide me with it. It's so much more dignified than begging. I just find it so amusing that they weren't even conscious of it until now. I'm just that good. But you'll see.
