Remember Whensday

Yesterday, Winston Wilbur shared a story about how his kitty sister Tika ran into a little trouble at the litter box. I won't get into the particulars here, but let's just say Winston's Mom had quite an exciting start to her day.

It reminded me of a cold Spring morning some years back, when I got into a little bit of  trouble  at the crack of dawn.

If I remember correctly, it went something like this...

It's time for Mom to get up and get ready for work. and I follow her downstairs where she lets me out to do business, while she waits for me at the back door.
I run to the way back of the yard like I always do, and get started.
As I sniff around looking for the perfect spot to do my business, I smell a glorious scent near the back of the garage. I go over to investigate and find a tasty morsel. It's a dead baby bunny carcass that Mr Owl dropped when he was done with it. So I have at it.
Well, apparently, Mom noticed me chowing down on something and yells" drop it!!!" Mind you she is standing way off  in the doorway, as I stated earlier. so naturally I pay her no mind.

Next thing I know, Mom is running towards me, barefoot, in her t-shirt and underwear. She  screaming for Dad, who is sleeping upstairs, and flailing her arms all about.
She reaches me, looks down, and starts freaking out even more dramatically then before. She then swoops down, reaches into my mouth with her bare hand, and pulls out a hand full of fur and flesh.
Then, before I know it,  I am scooped up, whisked inside, with her shouting stuff about disease and parasites. She runs over to the sink and starts washing her hands, still screaming for Dad, who bleary eyed, saunters down to find us in this this mess.
In the end, after an emergency call to the vet, Mom being late to work, and Dad not wanting any kisses from me for at least 5 sleeps, I was fine.
As far as Mom knows it was too early and too dark for the neighbors to see the show. She's pretty sure they heard her though.

Any of you ever get their humans day off to a screaming start?
