The Wimmys

Hello friends. I am joining you from my Red Blanket with my Co-host Sluggo. A while back I had mentioned that I would like to serve up some awards to my fellow bloggers. Not unlike the awards given out at the end of 2010.

Coming in under the wire, with tonight being the Academy Awards and all. I give you.....The Wimmys.

It was so difficult choosing who to present awards to. If I had unrestricted access to old Thumbs , everyone I know would get a special trophy. But alas, I do not. So please give a rousing round of applause to this years recipients!

Winners, please feel free to grab your award and post it on your blog, or print it out to hang on the fridge. Hell, you may even want to alert the media for a press release in your local papers!

And the winners are, in no particular order....

The first award goes out to my sister Brigitte. For continuing to be bold, even as a golden girl, she is not afraid to try new things.

There is no denying it, that Hank can party with the best of 'em, and still manages to keep things real on the ranch. I would also like to point out Hanks superior foster sibling skills. Who knew he had a softer side? Congratulations Hank!

I think we can all agree that we only wish we had Roxy's skills when it comes to traversing those surfaces. Keep up the good work girl!

Puglet, my friend. Please take no offense. My sister Brigitte nominated you for this award. She has nothing but the utmost respect for your creative methods of getting the job done. She has put in a requisition for a doggy door at our house.

Noodles has truly emerged as a prolific poet. Gracing us with some both funny and thoughtful work over the past year.

Brigitte will be carrying home multiple trophies this year. Her next award has been painstakingly earned on a twice daily schedule over the past year.

In a landslide, our good friend Archie runs away with the favorite newbie award. That kid is going places!

For all of the wisdom and knowledge she has shared with us, Scarlet is the recipient of the Most Zen Pug award.

Suki, for your efforts in agility training, please accept this Sportingest Pug award.

For just never quite living up the the expectation that all pee's are to be done outside, you get a fail. Better luck next year.

Tiffy my friend, Brigitte is happy to step down as worst in car. She hands her title over to you in hopes that you may bestow it upon a new winner next year!

The next award goes to Mason. I have the utmost admiration for him. Not only for the exceptional way that he communicates his comings and goings in life, ( when I say goings I'm not kidding either, ask him about the unstoppable torpedo) but the way he embraces his constitution in life, and ages with grace and dignity. Well done Mason.

We were so happy to hear from the Smushies. life on the ranch is good, and we love to learn all about it. Let's hope this award prompts another post!

Love me some Howie Pee Pants, and that Annie Bellie Bossy Britches...*bows in awe*. Java Cheesy? Mwah!!! Love to see you guys on the pug cam!

I just love the way Winston loves his Tuni, and Tuni loves her some Winston. They are just the sweetest couple.

Salinger! I could never leave you out. I am so proud of the way you have learned to share your fabulous world with Toby! Double the trouble!

Wilma has already left for the after party. She asked me to say goodbye, and congratulations to all the winners!

Let's Play Tag!

Hello friends! Last week, I got tagged. There is a game of tag going on around Blogville, and my friend Tweedles tagged me. That means I'm it, and you better run, cuz after I count to ten, and answer the ten questions associated with the game, anybody's fair game!

OK, ready?

1. Describe yourself in seven words.

Small dog, who loves to live large.

2. What keeps you up at night?

Not having my whole pack together. If Mom or Dad are out, I'll just pop off all night until they get home. Other than that, not much. I love to sleep!

3. Who would you like to be?

Nobody. I love being me. There is noone in the world quite like me. In fact, I'd like to be even more like me than I already am!

4. What are you wearing right now?

Naked as the day I was born. Don't want to hide all this beautiful fur!

5. What scares me?

Hmmmmmm. Not too much, but if I have to choose I'll go with Tweedles' answer. Late meals. It seems that the fact that I get fed twice a day, every day with snacks in between isnt enough to make me believe that if any of my meals is one minute late, I will never eat again. The way I express that fear? Yell at the feeders. Oh, which by the way, according to my internal meat clock, it's time to harass them right about now. BRB.

6. The best and worst of blogging.

The best of blogging ,is all the fun we have. I love sharing my life, with all my comings and goings, and I really love hearing all about you guys!

The worst, well the worst is losing friends. It hurts my heart really deep to hear about any of my friends going to the rainbow bridge. I don't worry about them so much. I know they are all together running, playing and eating and being happy. But I feel so sad for their people who are missing them. Humans give us all this love, and then they have to say farewell. I for one, would just like to put a great big thank you out there to all you humans who open your hearts to the joy and sorrow of loving us. We try our best to give you lots of love, and happiness in return.

7. What is the last website you visited?

Pug sluts, of course!

8. What is the one thing I would change about myself?

Well, I guess I would like it if I didn't have this trouble with my eyes. I would change my PK diagnosis.

9. Slankets. Yes or no?

Well, hold on a second. I have to ask google what a slanket is.

OK, google said, a slanket is a blanket with sleeves.

The answer is yes. Here is Brigitte in hers.

10. Tell us something about the person who tagged you.

Tweedles is just about the sweetest girl I know. She is a wonderful friend, not only to us fellow bloggers, but also to all the creatures of the forest and the sea. Tweedles sends bubbles filled with whatever it is her friends may need at the time. Love, healing, happiness, hugs. She inspires me to be a better pug, when I am not being devilish, that is. But that's OK, cuz Tweedles knows how to have a good time too. She's the best!

OK, you were warned, next to be it.....

1. The Girls, Sequoia, Petunia and Emma
2. Coco, over at Pug Network. Amelia can play too!
3. Too Cute Pugs, Pearl and Daisy
4.Roxy, my evil twin, and Lucky
5. Archie !!!!!!! tag, you're it!
6. The whole gang over at Pug Possessed
7. Suki
8. Minnie Moo & Lincoln too!

Fundage

Hmmmmmm......Saturday night, out on the town? Pull me out at least $200.00.

I can always use my American Express card if I run out. I never leave home without it!

Excuse me?! What do you mean they don't allow dags in the restaurant?! I'm a Pug!

Besides, it's my Dad's birthday celebration. I am obliged to be there. After all, I am only the best birthday prezzie ever!

"Treats are good. Treats made with love are always better."

Hi friends. We received a package today.

It smelled real good. So good that Sluggo almost put his whole head in the envelope!

Guess what was inside?

Treats.

Not just any treats, but treats from Pugs in the Kitchen.

Supposedly, they are for Sluggo's birthday, but I said since Valentines is so close, we should all get them. No one disagreed.

So tasty these treats are. The first ones we opened and tasted were the peanut butter pumpkin.
Here are a few pics of us enjoying them...

Sluggo also got some bling for his collar.

We also had a visit with my man Murphy over the weekend. Me and Brigitte made cards for our  Valentines, but Mom didn't take any pictures. Hmph!

We met at the dog park, and I got to meet Daisy. Murphy is pug sitting while her Mom goes to the vet. She's cute, but I have nothing to worry about. She's way too excitable for my man. He likes to be mellow, like me.
Here he is doing a high 5, he's so smart!

Here's Daisy

Check me out. That's me the little speck running across the park. I was big into exploring. I'm a pretty independent girl like that.

Here's Sluggo running with the big dogs. Or maybe running from them?

Duke was looking good.

We went into the little dog area and pretty much owned it.
Check out Britte yelling at the big white dogs getting out of their car. Did I ever tell you how Brigitte doesn't like big white dogs?

Sluggo got a prezzie from is first Mommy.

Well, I think I'll close here, after posting an absurd amount of pictures.
Later peeps!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Brigitte went for her pins (acupuncture and chiropractic) yesterday. The first picture is of her on the way to the vet. The second, after her treatment, which we like to call Brittement. We're weird like that. Brigitte's back end was all out of alignment. A few cracks here, a few pins there, she was good as new. Brigitte is a pretty good girl. She doesn't complain about much, so Mom only noticed the profound difference in Brigitte's affect upon looking at the pictures she had taken. Pretty amazing huh? Best advertisement for alternative veterinary treatments that I could imagine. In fact, hey Mom, let's send this to Dr Erickson!

Holy crap! We just went over to copy a link to Dr Erickson's page, and guess who is right there on the home page?! Me, that's who!!!! Mom had taken the pictures during one of my appointments and sent it along to possibly use to update their site. You must follow this link, and see how happy she make me too! After that, go to the page for doctors. There you will see a picture of the good doctor with her giant pug...er Bull Mastiff. Love you Dr Erickson!

Happy Birthday My Little Sluggy Bee

Sluggo at about 6 months old
Hi folks, It's Wil's Mom here today. She graciously let me sit in today so that I could post about her brother's birthday. Thanks Wil.

It was five years ago today that Sluggo came into the world. I knew of his birth as his Mom Chole was being fostered by our friend Samantha (Murphy's Mom). What I had no idea of, was that the little guy who wasn't breathing at first, would be changing our lives forever. To read all about his first weeks, click here. Murphy did a post a while back.

Sluggo on the right (I think)

You see, we had no intentions of adding a 3rd pug to the pack. We had had plenty of opportunities, but this time it was different. This lanky little, awkward, long necked giraffe of a pug cast a spell over us. Well, almost all of us. Brigitte was not too keen on the idea of having a little ball of energy around.

Why Mom?

They were soon fast friends though.

So it began, live with Sluggo, life with three pugs.

It wasn't easy at first. All of you people who say going from 2 to 3 is no big deal, you are liars. We were now out numbered!
Walks changed.
Mealtime changed, Wilma was now food aggressive.
Bully sticks and the like changed (see mealtime).
The trim on our newly remodeled kitchen changed.
Our new leather sectional changed. It became a four thousand dollar chew toy.
The lambie budget changed. This kid could destroy a stuffie in 1 minute flat!

For all those things, this little guy had charm. I had always heard that male pugs had a different temperament.
It was true. Wilma, with her aloof coolness and devilish charm was our intro to pugs.
Then came energetic, sweet. lovable Britte.

But this guy was a lover.

He loved Wilma, he loved lambies, but most of all, he loved his Mommy.
And I loved him right back.

Over the past almost 5 years that love has grown. Naturally, I can't imagine life without Sluggo.
He is the quirkiest misfit I've ever met. Allow me to discuss some of his issues.

Surface issues. Won't walk on certain surfaces. Doesn't like it when certain things are on top of other surfaces such as tables, chairs etc.

Doesn't like it if his lambies are too close to things, such as cabinets or furniture. He will cry at them until you retrieve them for him.

Doesn't like to be talked to if you are not fully visible to him. Behind a counter, coming upstairs from the cellar. He'll bark at you until you remedy this.

He is compelled to cancel out the girls pees. Even if he has come in and they do something more, he has to run out and either pee or poop directly on the area.

He has the most bizarre relationships with his lambies. Wilma has discussed some of his obsessions, such as his hierarchy. A few months back, a couple fights broke out around the lambies. We think now, it may have been Sluggo trying to rise up when Wilma was ill. We have reintroduced a few now, and things have been peaceful. Lately, Sluggo has a new compulsion around his lambies. When we settle down at night to TV or whatever, he jumps up with a fave. Right now, his loofah dog, or duckie. He likes to suckle them, and put the whole damn thing in his mouth. Now, at about 9PM every night, he pops up his head, looks around, jumps down and returns with a rope toy.
"Time to chew some rope"

I could go on and on, but I won't. I want to go spend some time with my little Sluggy Bee. We have a few surprises in store for him. We'll tell you about that later.

Oh, and one more thing. I tried to post this the other day, but the Blogpress app is f'd up again. So, you will get the Readers Digest version.

Way back when, Sluggo won one of Punchy's giveaways.
I finally got around to sending his neck measurements, so that he could have his very own bow tie!

He hated it.

He just stood there frozen for the longest time.

I think he started to like it after all the girls were swooning all over him though.

OK, one more Sluggo pic and I'm done.

Happy Birthday buddy!!!! I love you more than Wilma loves treats!
