Nor' whater? I Thought it Was Halloween!

Good morning world! We are all fine following the hot mess that went down here on the East coast this weekend. We are one of the over 800,000 Connecticut Light and Power customers who will probably not get our power back for at least a week however.

Don't worry about me though, I am basing my operation out of my remote hub over at Grammy and Grampy's. I am told I can stay as long as I like as long as I don't poop on the rug. I think I can handle that. Not sure about the other two, only time will tell.

So we are working on a more efficient posting source other than Mom's iPhone. Sunflower party still on so far. I'll keep you posted of any changes.

Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween, it's pretty spooky around here at night with half the state being dark and what not.

I'll leave you with this old shot of me in costume for now. Today I guess you could say I am "dresses up" as a gypsy.

Can I Get a Upgrade? A Upgrade?

Looks like something spooked Sluggo. Perhaps a ghost? Goblin? What's that Brigitte? It was his shadow? No surprises there!

Hi everybody! Lot's to catch up on once again, being that it took Mom over a week to help me post! You think I can get an ad into tomorrows help wanted section in by press time?

First of all, it's a go for our Sunflower Halloween Party next weekend. Details to follow. Feel free to send along your costume pictures. Looks like I may have to sub contract that whole Sunflower Sisters roster too, come to think of it. Hmph!

Now, I have to address the weather. It's just too freaky not to. Check the view out the car window yesterday on my way to visit my Dr Ericson for my follow up...

Yup, those are autumn leaves on the trees, AND snow on the ground! (those little dots are my cow friends, I bet their hooves are cold!)

Now they are saying there is a big Nor'easter on it's way! They even gave it a name. Alfred.
I say this is all crazy talk. Maybe these forecasters are on some of my pain meds.

Speaking of which, I did make it to the Vet and my news is great. My reflexes were perfect, and there was just a tiny tight spot in my back. So I had another acupuncture treatment, and a nice visit with the staff. Dr Ericson was very complimentary to me (always is) and mentioned how good I was being for my treatment. So, then Mom goes and tells her how I have been being extra sweet and tender at home too.
Well, I had to rectify that situation, and fast. Lest people think I am softening.
On the way home, while Mom was driving, I decided to squirm out of my harness and jump down on the floor, out of reach of Mom!

That's me, stuck behind the drivers seat!

Mom was not happy. She pulled over and was using lots of HBO words.

Here I am after the fact. Bad Dog Card back in good standing!

Think I'll close here. I've got more intel, but I think it deserves a separate post. So, stay tuned, I may actually post two days in a row. Even if I have to do it myself!

Current Events ~ to include Sunflower business

Good day everyone!

I have been spending the week convalescing, and I can report that I am feeling no pain!
While there has been a lot of resting and relaxing going on, there has also been a lot of playing around. I even thought I heard the phrase "like a puppy again" being thrown around this week. I'll keep you posted with my condition when I follow up with the vet next week.

In the mean time, I have a few matters to clean up, and I will take this opportunity to take care of them. (While I have access Mom's opposable thumbs)

First off, Mom and Dad took off last weekend for the day. When they came home, they smelled of other pugs and meat! I don't think I have to explain how that sat with the home team. We were none too pleased, to say the least.

When I learned where they had been, I forgave them about the other pug thing. But, I am still pissed about the meat! I guess they stopped at some burger joint on the way home, and didn't even think of us!

Mom and Dad gave a lift to a couple of pugs who were passing through on their way into rescue with GMPR. If you follow that link you can read more about the bonded pair. A boy and a girl, Fred and Ginger. She is totally blind, and depends on him to be her seeing eye pug. Mom says he does a hell of a job too. Here is a picture of them in the car on their way to meet their foster family.

I sure hope they find their perfect forever home soon. Mom loved that Ginger so much, she threatened to take a detour and bring them right home to live here! She said she was most impressed with how well they rode in the car. Not a peep out of them. Pfffft. Whatever!

Listen, I'm all about pugs, love 'em. I think all pugs should be treated like royalty. But all positions are filled here in my Queendom!
So, if you know of any great people who would be willing to give these two their forever home, hook 'em up with GMPR.

In other news, Sunflower news to be exact. there are a few things I need to talk about.
First, being the announcement of a new sister! If you haven't already, meet Lola.

Lola's blog A Pug's Tale by Lola is about her life in Alabama with her Mom and her boy. She also has a chihuahua brother Tucker who is a big pain. So, we have another southern belle in the club. go on over and welcome her to the funnest group of girls (mostly) around!

This brings us to my next order of business. The Sunflower Page.
You see, there was a period of time where it just disappeared. Then, Mom could see it again in the design section. When she went to add Lola to our roster, and reactivate the page, our roster was gone!
Damn you Blogger!
While we pretty much know who is in the club, Mom asked if you all wouldn't mind just leaving a comment reminding her. She plans on rewriting the list and doesn't want to miss anyone.

OK, One last thing. We have been talking about having another Spooky Sunflower Halloween Party. We figured we would have it after the actual holiday, like on the weekend of November 5th. This way, everyone will have been photographed in their costumes, and can send them to us, to be messed with for the party. What do you think? We'll keep it tentative for now, and will make an official announcement once we get your feedback.

I'm a Featured Pet!

Featured Pet

The current Featured Pet is Wilma from Beacon Falls, CT

Well, I can't seem to get out of this font, so I am shouting out in bold, maroon print, that I am the current featured pet on Linden Lines Design!

I am pictured in my beautiful Sunflower collar, that I won in their "Caption This" contest.

Guess what! You too could be a winner. All you need to do is head on over to this months contest, and submit your own clever caption.

The hardest part about winning will be selecting from all their beautiful fabrics for your own collar!

I gotta tell you, when Brigitte woke me up to tell me about being the featured pet, I jumped out of bed, and I'm feeling better than ever!

Let's hope this carries me through when the drugs wear off!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Enough About Me! How About those Sunflower Girls?!

I don't want to neglect my Sunflower Club duties, as we do have a few things going on in our gang. I will let you know that I am feeling much better though. No screamies, and I have been giving Sluggo and Brigitte the business all day.

Mom is trying to keep me quiet so I don't over-do it, but let me tell you, it's amazing what a little muscle relaxer can do!

On to the business at hand...

First, this week was the lovely Miss Tuni's Gotcha Day. So here's to you Tuni. You are a dear friend!

Next, it's time to celebrate the younger set. That's right, our little Miss Ellie turned one yesterday! She will be having a fantastic celebration this weekend. You go girl! We hope you have the time of your life!

Our girl Gracie one of The Slimmer Pugs has been recovering from her second knee surgery over the past week. She is having lots of signatures on her cast from all her great friends. Keep up the good work Gracie!

Our dear Cleo, from Sashacleo, has been recovering from surgery to remove 8 nasty mast cell tumors, and a cracked molar. To top it off, she has a UTI. Oh miss Cleo, feel better.

So, if you haven't already, won't you please head on over to offer your Sunflower love to the best of the best Sunflower Girls today?

In addition to all of these goings on, unfortunately we have some bad news too.

It just makes me so mad that some jerks have nothing better to do than steal from other people. Put your skills to better use, you dirt bags!

I Have Egyptian Eyes

First, I would like to thank you all for your kind words of support. you all know me, I like to act like a tough guy, but I'm all soft and squishy on the inside.

I had a really good day today. I got a little screamy last night, but today was smooth sailing.

My besties Sluggo and Brigitte are taking great care of me.

Sluggo even got rid of a pesky visitor for me.

Now, back to my eyes. One thing people often comment on is my eyes. in fact, when we were on vacation this past Summer, a lady stopped us right in the street and said..."oh look, she has Egyptian eyes!" I prefer to think of them as a "smokey eye". Very Willylicious of me!

Wilma's Wednesday Words of Wisdom~ Early Edition, Because I Can

"Sometimes you gotta get your theater geek on if you wanna get a little extra me time"

Hi peeps! I know I've still been a little scarce around blogville, but it has been very time consuming baffling the humans with my random symptoms.
My theatrics did succeed in getting me two full days of me time with Mom. I got to go everywhere she went.

Yesterday, Mom had to go into work to do some paperwork. There were no students there, so I got to tag along. Mom wanted to keep me close by because I spent an hour and a half in the middle of the night before shifting around in the bed.

Here I am checking the chair height for compliance with OSHA guidelines.
A little hard on the butt.

I got to meet Mr Kinn. He said I could call him Manny.

I wasn't very impressed that there wasn't a proper dog resting place, but I made do.

After leaving the office, we stopped at Homey Dee's

I wasn't cool with being stuck in the carriage, so Mom had to let me down.

Next stop Petsmart.
Got me a nice new soft bed!

I was having such a great time hanging out with Mom yesterday, that I forgot to act like I was having any problems. So I made up for it last night. While we were hanging out, I stood up and let out a couple of big screams, and lurched forward. I got Mom to hold me gently for so long that she said her hand fell asleep. (By the way, you have to have real conviction to pull this off. I almost started to feel bad about how scared Mom and Dad were getting)

I checked Moms calender this morning and saw that Brigitte had her acupuncture appointment today with Dr Ericson. I really wanted to keep hanging out with Mom, so I put on another episode. What I didn't realise was that Mom had already switched it to be for me.
Here we are at my last visit.

I decided to have another episode when Mom tried to lift up my bum like she did this morning, just so the Doc could see my stellar performance.
Mom was telling Dr Ericson all about what has been happening with me, and as soon as she put her hands on me, she could feel something was wrong. My mid back was very tight, and my reflexes in my hind end were a little sluggish. with a little more assessment, and conversation about the intermittent nature of my screaming episodes, (I tried to tell them I was making audition tapes for Bad Girls Club, but they wouldn't listen) Dr. Ericson is pretty convinced I am having some "intervertabral degenerative disc disease". Some nonsense about this happening with aging sometimes. Ugh!
So, the plan for me right now is, start the anti-inflammatory meds again, add pepsid for my tummy, and muscle relaxers to get me over this hump.

I got a nice acupuncture treatment, and I felt a lot better right away.

Note from Mom:
Wilma likes to make light of her situation, but we really have been struggling with trying to figure out what has been going on with her.
When her Dad brought her into our regular vet last week, they had us give her a little metacam (anti-inflammatory) for a few days. Wilma seemed to feel a little better with that, but I stopped giving it on Sunday as they didn't want her on it long term, and so her symptoms weren't being masked. So it made sense that something musculoskelatal was going on as her discomfort resumed without the meds. As much as I don't want to see Wilma have any problems with her back, I am hoping this is the problem so that we can implement an appropriate treatment plan.
In the mean time, we will try and keep things light and fluffy, just the way she likes it. I know sometimes stuff happens with these dogs, and we appreciate the hell out of all of your support, but we need things to go back to something similar to normal around here.

The Rumors are True, I Was Parade Marshal!

What's that Brigitte? Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman was the parade marshal?! I don't think so!

Was she the only one up on the back of the float (read pick up truck) waving at thousands of fans? Uh, no.

Were the paparazzi snapping photos of her, along with children of all ages oohing and aaahing?
I didn't see it.

So, yeah, we were all feeling pretty good on Saturday, and had been suffering from some serious cabin fever after all the quarantines, and feeling mopey.
The annual Park Road Parade
was this past Saturday, and we had been planning our costumes for months! There was no way we were missing it, not even if was pouring rain! Which it pretty much was right up to march time.
However, the skies cleared and the rain stopped just in time for The Wizard of Oz pugs to take center stage!

Kinda, sorta clockwise from left to right ~ Brigitte woo, woo, wooing as Glenda the Good Witch, Moi, as none other than Dorothy, who else? Duke (Brigitte's bf as the Tin Man, Max, Murphy and Dukes foster bro as Toto. Murphy as the Scarecrow, and naturally we have Sluggo "playing the part" of the Cowardly Lion.

We had loads of fun, and we won the costume contest hands down!
Here are some more pictures...

 Sluggo and Britte

This little girls booties lit up. Later on, Britte went over and introduced herself as half a chihuahua!

My main squeeze Murphy, it was so great to see him.
Brigitte and The Duke of Whirl
Bros
This is Tippy, the 3 legged pug. Her human bro was a cowboy too.
Her Momma was a foster failure after she was brought to her animal hospital after an accident to be, well,  you know. She was a real spit fire.

Shark attack!
"I'll get you my pretty...and your little dog too!!!"

Hank, the new guy, he's 10 months

Tippy again, making friends with Keke
Wheezy

 "Somewhere over the rainbow...la,la,la"
There wasn"t really a rainbow, this is one Dad saw last week!

Me, before I joined the crowd

Brigitte, before she lost her crown

Sluggo, who surprisingly tolerated his costume pretty well.

Me and Britte

Here was my view, see, Dad pushing Brigitte? And that's Sam, Sluggo's foster mom walking with him.
After, we got to go the The Corner Pug for lunch and celebrate with our prize winnings!

Brigitte, with her bestie, Cella.

Tippy, waiting patiently for her family to finish lunch. Not sure she was all pug?

We all had a super fun time, and can't wait to do it again. This weekend is the PRONE Pug Social. We are hoping to make it to that too.

Oh, and by the way, is anyone getting some lame message about filling up you free space on Picassa? I want to make my Dorothy picture my header, and Google wants me to pay for a membership for more space! What's up with that?!
