Brigitte is a Rocker

She always has been. Whenever Dad has band practice, she's always right there, chillin', just like a groupie. Me, I prefer the softer stylings of say, coffee house tunes sung by singer songwriters or, even Biggie Smalls, when I'm in the mood.In fact, I run a Jazz Club down in the basement. A little underground place for the true beatnick. But when Dad's friends come over and start hauling in those loud boxes and round things they like to bang on, I get right outta  the way. As far out as I can get. Even though I don't recall booking them, I let them stay for the sake of the music.

Sluggo will hang for a while, like in this shot from our old house-

But eventually his true square tendencies come out and he joins me in a nice warm quiet out of the way berth.

Brigitte has a softer side too. Recently, Dad has taken to coming home from work and strumming a few tunes on his acoustic. Brigitte loves to get right up next to him and enjoy the dulcet melodies. Now, if he dooesn't get right down to business when he gets home, Brigitte will hop onto the couch and nervously fidget until he sits down and strums her a tune. It would all be quite endearing if it weren't for the fact that this whole charade holds up my dinna.

What a Wonderful Weekend

It all started Saturday morning at our meetup. It was at an outdoor venue, which was cool. Number one because it was so beautiful out,  and number two, because Sluggo could run around without freaking out about the slippery surface of the floor indoors.

Murphy and Sluggo were checking out a new small human.
Brigitte was lovin' life!

While Murphy guarded the donation jug. Our meetup saved a puggle from the shelter and got them taken care of at the vet. Now they have a new life at their forever home. We are very happy about that! There's Dad in the background.

Today we went to Hop Brook Lake in Middlebury. It's in the same town that chick in the stupid Idol show Mom and Dad are still watching, even though it totally jumped the shark, lives.

Nevertheless we had a really great time.

That handsome Sluggo enjoyed the scenery.

I even managed to steal Brigittes' seat for a short ride.

Here's Sluggo enjoying some time in the pavillion. None of us understood why Mom and Dad didn't bring any meat for the grill.Hope you all had a great weekend too!!
'Till next time, Wilma

Wilma's Words of Wisdom: Your seat is only my seat waiting to happen

I love seat stealing. It really isn't stealing though, because everything around here is mine and I  choose to let you borrow it. There is nothing I love more than to immediately take up residence in nice warm roosts as soon as they are vacated. The best is at night, when we are hanging out watching the talking box and Mom or Dad gets up for a refreshment or bathroom break.

These are the opportunities I live for. I swiftly get up and relocate to where their rumps were. Walk around in circles and plunk right down.

When they get back, are they ever irritated. I love it. I do it every time. It's mine and they know it.

There is a new seat in the house . It's located right under the new desk Grampy made for Mommy. Mom put a nice pillow under there, soft, cozy, perfect. One problem...they call it Brigittes' seat. Something about how she is always at Moms feet and this makes the perfect little place for her. It's true, that little kiss up is always right beside the Mom. Before she had the desk, Brigitte would sit right under the table whenever Mom was working. But I mean, Brittes' seat? C'mon, they really should know better by now. If I'm going to steal their big old seats, there is no way I'm not stealing hers.

So just be warned. If  you come to my house, sit, relax, enjoy. But as soon as you make a move, I will be there, waiting for the perfect opportunity to get comfy. It's what I do.

My Very Own Handmade Sweater - by Brigitte the chug

I was so excited when Mommy came in from the mailbox this morning. There it was, a lovely parcel from Rochester addressed to me! Mommy had said there would be a surprise coming for me,but I never could have guessed how happy it would make me. The package came from my new friends Sue, Pearl and Daisy over at Too Cute Pugs. Inside was the most beautiful pink and grey sweater. You see last week Pearl posted about the awesome new sweaters that their Mom made them. Well Wilma was admiring them and noted how pretty they looked. Except Daisy didn't like hers. She's not a fan of dressing up. What a mug she made in her picture. Not happy. Wilma posted a comment about the sweaters, and how she thought I would like the pink and grey one alot cuz those are my colors. Then Mommy got an email from Daisy and Pearls Mommy, offering me the sweater. Can you believe it? I think that is just the nicest thing that anyones ever done for me.(except when Mommy brought me home to have the best forever home ever,of course) Let me tell you, I couldn't get into the sweater fast enough and get outside to take it for a test run in the newly fallen snow. So Mommy and me went out for a private photo shoot. What do you think? Could I make it on America's Next Top Pug Model?

I'd like to send a great big Muchas Gracias out to Sue and her girls. Daisy, I will put your sweater to good use. In fact, I think I'll wear it to my Grammy and Grampys tomorrow. Thanks to Wilma also for graciously letting me be a guest on her blog.
Adios friends and family,
Brigitte
