Wilma's Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"Pugs aren't like dogs, they are more like cocktail guests"

Aside from coming away from The Cape fully understanding why Provincetown was named #1 Dogtown USA by Dog Fancy Magazine, I also received one of the most  brilliant pieces of wisdom I have ever heard.

We pugs know that we are a little different from other dogs. But, when I ever heard one of the multitudes of pug fans I met last week liken us to cocktail guests, I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it myself.

I mean, it suits us perfectly.
So, when I saw these cocktail napkins at this cute little shop called Drinkx on Commercial St. I just had to get them.

You know no party is complete without a pug, so be sure to spread the word.

So, while I can not call them my words of wisdom, I would be remiss if  I did not share this observation with the world.

Mint Julep anyone?
Where is our mixologist?!

First Mate Sluggo and the Lucky Dogs

Hi! This here is Sluggo, or First Mate Sluggo to you.

Wilma let me take over the blog today so that I could tell you about my vacation experience in P-town.

It was fabulous! Loved it!
I don't even know where to begin.

I too was able to strut about town, in and out of the shops. I discovered that I love shopping.

I requested to enter every store. I was just dying to see what they had to offer.
I also loved going for coffee in the morning with Mom and Dad to the Wired Puppy.

Not only were there great shops I was allowed to go to, but there was the most awesome hot dog joint called...

This place was awesome!!!
They even had a jar of treats for us dogs!

They don't have a website yet or I would link you to it, but if you click here it will take you to their face book page.
They have special brioche like bun made daily and all their own homemade sides. Plus, they pickle their own condiments.
I can't say enough good things about this place. It is a must  if you visit Provincetown.

Speaking of lucky dogs, there were a billion that we met.We don't have pictures of them all,but I will share a few.

First, meet Toby

He actually stayed with us for a couple of days.

I really liked him, I followed him everywhere.
He was a little shy, but very sweet.

This is Petey...

Brigitte was very interested in him because he was a chihuahua.

I don't know this next guys name, but he was an awesome swimmer...

He kept swimming out to my Dad and his friends.

This is my special lobster lambie I got for vacation.
I really like him, but I did share

SluggoBrigitte

I like lobsters so much, I started impersonating them.

What do you think?

I loved the ocean so much, I even got a nautical collar.
You can see it in this picture of me on our way home.

I think I should go on vacation every week.
But Mommy saidif I want anymore vacations, I will need to get something called a job.
And then I would be lucky to get two weeks vacation.
Doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

Speaking of time off,
Wilma will return tomorrow with some words of wisdom.

Ta ta for now,
Sailor Sluggo

Brigitte's Day

Hi Everybody! Brigitte here. Wilma is letting me write a post today to tell you all how great it is to turn 10. I can't wait to do it again!

First of all, I want to thank you all for the special Birthday wishes and posts. Mom was reading them to me from her iPad on vacation, and it made me feel extra special to hear from all our wonderful bloggy friends!

I had the best birthday!
Mom took me on a special private shopping trip all by myself!

We strolled down Commercial Street. Mom had me in my Britte bag and everybody was stopping us and giving me love. It was great.

We passed by this table where they were selling raffle tickets to benefit animals on the lower Cape. I definitely wanted to contribute, so we got a whole booklet. The grand prize is $1000.00. I wouldn't mind putting that in my puggy bank either.

Then we went to this store

There were all kinds of great smells and fun toys. They had water and cookies for me, and Mommy got me a new collar.

We had cake with whippy for me, plus P-town had fireworks and a parade to celebrate my birthday!!! Can you imagine?!

We could watch the fireworks  from out on our deck. I was right out there, front and center. Wilma and Sluggo were hiding inside.

Then a parade came right by the house!

They had a giant cake shooting confetti with 100 candles.
They must have wanted me to have 10 times the fun, and it worked!!

*Note from Wilma*
They were really celebrating the 100th anniversary of this...

It is Pilgrims Monument, and it was built 100 years ago to commemorate the first landing place of the pilgrim's on their journey from England.

This is a depiction of the original dedication ceremony.
Back to Brigitte. Please don't tell her that the parade and fireworks weren't exactly for her birthday. As far as we all were concerned, they were.

As we were strolling down the street, I saw these...

See the little magic bubbles? Tweedles was there. Just like she said she would be. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I had a crazy great time!!! The only thing that could have made it better was if all my friends were there. Maybe for my next 10th birthday!

P-town = Pugtown

Hi Everybody! We're home from the Cape and have I got some stories for you.

And trust me, I will tell you all about it. In fact, plan on about a weeks worth of  posts from Provincetown.
Needless to say, we had a great time. Naturally, everyone was thrilled to see me(Brigitte & Sluggo too, I guess) Mom and Dad bought us a house right on Commercial Street, moments from the beach.

Here is the view from our room.

The first morning, I got Mom up at the a$$ crack of dawn to check out this

She wasn't too happy. She didn't want us to wake up our friends from Vegas so early.

She stopped calling me swear words after this happened...

then this...

We spent a lot of time doing this...

But we also pretty much ran things out there in p-town. I mean, there were literally throngs of people and their pooches who were elated to see me. We must have gotten stopped at least 100 times over the course of the week for autographs and photo op's.

I don't want to give up too much, so for now, I will leave you with this

and ask you to ponder this...
"What the helma am I doing living in Connecticut?"

Cele~Britte

My beautiful sister Brigitte will turn ten years old on Sunday August 1st. We will be celebrating on the Cape.  There will be documentation of these events, but I didn't want to leave without telling Brigitte how much we all love her.
Sure, I gave her a daily beat down for the first year or two she came to live with us, but I was only testing her.
So Britte, Brigitte, B, Breedletons McGee, Brigillent B, Brigitte P, Mrs Bambridge, B Complex ,
Whatever we call you, you are the best sister any diva pug could ask for. Thanks for always letting me shine in the spotlight, for always taking on each day with a smile, for remaining true to yourself, for always being our sweet Brigitte.

Long may you run.

For those of you who think I've gone soft, posting two cloyingly sweet posts in one week ,fear not. I fully intend to refresh my superior royal self this week on vacation. Remember, I am about to wow Privincetown.

Sluggo Got a Surprise ~ His Feelings are Mixed

Really Mom, a package for me?

Hmmm, smells like my brudder Murphy.

Um, what is it?

There is a note

I don't know about this. How come I have to wear this?
What? Cape Cod? Where is that?
Why do you think I would pee on things in any ones house but mine?

Wait, there is something else in the envelope...

Wilma! It's for you...

For me? I don't pee where I shouldn't...oh, look! It's a love note from my boyfriend Murphy!!!

Could you bring it a little closer Mom, my eyes....

Ohhh, Murphy is so sweet. He said he is going to miss me when we are on vacation. I will miss him too.

Look Brigitte, I got a note from Murphy

Hey, what do you mean he wrote to you too?!

Aww, I guess that's OK. He is worried about you. Don't worry Murph, I won't let her get all gaga and have one of those Summer romances.

Mmmuahhh!!

That's a big fat kiss for you Murphy.
Let's hope that buddy band works so we get the pet deposit back!!
