Brigitte P ~ Minister of Information

Brigitte has been bugging me lately about adding a twitter account to the blog. No offence to any of you tweeters out there, but I really have no interest in such things. One, I am too cool to be that trendy, and two because I have my paws full managing the blog.

Then I gave it some thought. Why not let Brigitte tweet? Let her be in charge of her own account and she can do with it what she wants.
It turns out that she is the perfect candidate for this kind of social media. Brigitte is a busybody.
I have heard Mom refer to her as bearing a striking resemblance to Betty Kimball.
None of you will know this Betty Kimball. I know I don't, and apparently, she has long since died.
She is a character from Mom's childhood.
Betty Kimball was the neighborhood gossip.
She was the short old lady with a history of mental health issues, who wore her lipstick far outside the boundaries of her lips, and walked around the neighborhood, stopping and turning to look behind her every 10 feet or so. She had a waddle in her gait, and she thrived on tattling on all the kids in the neighborhood for any shenanigans they might be up to.
In turn, the neighborhood kids took great pleasure in prank calling her and toilet papering her house on mischief night.
Mom says most of your humans probably had a Betty Kimball in their neighborhoods growing up, and there may even be a current version living near by you now.
Mom also says that if Brigitte were a human, she would be a cross between Betty Kimball and her androgynous middle school gym teacher.
Only the best qualities of both, of course.
Brigitte most certainly waddles when she walks, and she definitely likes to "stir the pot".

That being said, you may notice the twitter widget in the sidebar.
Britte's Tweets.
She is Pugbritte on Twitter, and she has no clue what she is doing. But she'll figure it out. She has signed up to follow some of you guys, and Howard Stern.
Feel free to follow her.

She says that she is 10 and she doesn't give a crap what anyone thinks , says or does.
She will tweet whatever she wants.
I told her that's fine, as long as it doesn't turn into a place to brag every time she manages to eat a poop.

Remembering Emmett ~ A True Gentleman Among Pugs

As many of you know, our friend Emmett passed over the Rainbow Bridge today.
We have very heavy hearts thinking about his Mom and Dad Melissa and Fred who will miss him so deeply.

Emmett was a truly special pug, who touched the hears of all who knew him.
Instead of weeping, we have decided to celebrate Emmett's life with some memories.

After all, that is how we dogs live, for all the moments we share with our loved ones.
For the now, for the love of life.

We know we will see our friend Emmett again some day.
We will all share mini meatloaves together over the bridge.

For now we will stay close by our humans,
they need us extra.
We can feel it in way the are hugging us a little tighter today.

Emmett was a loving friend. He expressed it best here .
And yes Emmett we could always feel it.

Emmett was generous. He always took such pleasure in sharing with us all through his giveaways. This is a picture of him with the sock monkey Sluggo won from him. We will treasure it always.

Emmett loved a party. We had such fun celebrating his 14th Birthday with him this past year.

Here he is dressed in red joining us girls at Camp Sunflower.
Such a great sense of humor.

And he could sing. You should check him out here teaching his Mother Bear how to sing.

We will miss you dear friend Emmett, but we will never forget you.
Please stop by and offer his Mom and Dad some words of comfort at this sad time.

We have also started a page dedicated to Emmett at Gratefulness.org where you can light a candle and leave a message for Emmett.

A Little Sun to Brighten the Day!

Something came in the mail yesterday from Melissa and Emmett to add some sunshine to an otherwise gloomy day. We had been waiting for our sweaters designed especially for us by Melissa, and they were here!

If you haven't guessed, they are Sunflower Sister sweaters! Look at the special green tweed collar. We just love them!

Brigitte, loved keeping hers on all evening, and didn't want to take it off at bedtime. Thank you Melissa and Emmett!

Cyrus

Sadly, Cyrus's trachea was collapsed beyond repair, and he passed over the Rainbow Bridge today.
His parents are devastated. You can go here to offer your condolences.

We have lit a candle for Cyrus. Click here to light one too.

Thanks to everyone for wishing him well today. Although we don't "know" one another in the flesh, it doesn't diminish the devastation we feel when one of our babies crosses the bridge.
Farewell Cyrus, you will be missed.

Love,
Kathy

Power of the Paw Needed for Cyrus

Cyrus is Alicia's baby from over at The Curious Pug . He has been having some breathing problems recently, and they are not getting better. He will be having a bronchoscopy tomorrow to see what is going on and hopefully fix it. His Momma is really worried about him. Please keep Cyrus in your thoughts and prayers, and go over and give his mom some love.

Stylish?...Me?...Well yeah

I was so excited when my pals Benny and Lily presented me with this stylish blogger award.
I just love praise and acknowledgement.

So. here's the rules -
Stylish Blogger Award.

I need to link to the blog that awarded me. Check

I need to share 7 things about us that you may not know. Read on.

Award 7 other blogs that I think are stylish and contact those bloggers and tell them about the award.

Will do.

1. I like to curl up right in the middle of Mom's spot in the bed, and refuse to budge
2.Brigitte says chihuahua. Really. Someday we'll get it on film.
3.Sluggo is afraid of garbage bags.
4. My Dad is my favorite parent.
5.Brigitte doesn't like large white dogs. She barks like crazy at them every time she sees one.
6. Sluggo is a herding dog. If me and/or Britte are giving the rents a hard time about going somewhere, Sluggo will chase us right into a corner.
7 I can hear the cheese drawer open from any location on the property.

And now, to bequeath this award to seven others

Quite honestly though, I think all my friends are stylish bloggers. So if you are so inclined, grab this award and play on!

Love, Wilma

Welcome to the Log Farm ~ edited

Look what the 2 days with temperatures in the 50's revealed in our yard.

Sweater Day ~ We Do It the Stubby Way

As many of you know, today is Sweater Day.
We all know because our friend Winston Wilbur told us about it.

He made it even more important by dedicating the day to our beloved friend Stubby

Well, wouldn't you know it, after living on Arctic Tundra for the past what seems like forever, it is warm here today.
Like, in the 50's warm.

But, that is OK. We still put on our sweaters.
We put 'em on, turned OFF the heat, threw open some windows and went for a walk.

And later, when it gets freezing again...
We will turn the heat back on 3 degrees lower and keep on our sweaters.

Mom found this video from the Canadian WWF that is pretty funny.
She is trying to share it here. We are keeping our paws crossed that it works.

Click below and watch the video. Sweater Man is a riot!

In other news, I had a long talk with Mom this morning about her spending so many of the awake hours away from home at that WORK place. She has been hindering my ability to keep in touch with all my blog friends. I told her that just because she doesn't have anything exciting going on in her life, that I have a life. I need to keep up on every one's happenings and share my news as well. Unfortunately I need her thumbs, and her functioning brain in order to do that.
She promised that things will be returning to something similar to a normal routine around here, and she will be able to give me more time to post and keep up with you all. I have been reading many of your posts, but haven't been commenting so much. Mom says that'll change.
It better!

Happy Green Stubby Sweater Day everybody!

This Goes Out to All the Lovers in the House

Pugs and kisses to you all!!!

For your enjoyment, I am sharing some out takes from our Valentines photo shoot.

First, check out my sexy heart tee shirt. I think it will meet Daisy's sexy standard. Brigitte says she thinks it would meet her beefy standard too. What the heck is that supposed to mean?!

You know what I say to that?! Kiss it Britte!

Here's Brigitte's Beefy Pug tribute pose...

Hahaha, check Mom trying to make me look off to the side by using treats.
Who's training who here folks, I mean really?

Might as well give Sluggo a pitchfork in this next one...

Brigitte is so easily distracted. Probably thinking of sneaking off to the club.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Mr. Sadsack.

Hey lady, where are those treats you were passing out earlier? This modeling is exhausting.

Later guys, I'm going to find my man Murphy.

Happy Birthday Daddymeats, Love, Wilmameats

Ten years ago today, you learned that I would be your baby.

Well, you didn't know yet that it would be exactly me.

But I did.

When you came to meet my sister, when we were no bigger than mini coke cans

I decided then that you would be mine

That was when I discovered my powers of mind control, and I have been honing them on you ever since.

It was me who made those other people who came to pick me up fall in love with that little Frenchie.
Because I knew it was meant to be for me to be with you, as your number one pug!

So here's to you Dad! Happy Birthday from your little devil.

Oh, Mom, Britte and Sluggo say Happy Birthday too.

Lots, and Lots of Valentines!!!

And according to the Opthamologist, I'll be able to see them just fine when I get back from my road trip with Roxy and Lucky.

See, before the trip, I had a visit with my eye doctor. She said everything looks good, and my eyes haven't gotten any worse since last year.
Perfect, I'll continue to see everything I need to , and I can pull the pigmenting keratitis card when I don't feel like walking down the stairs in the dark and stuff.

The best part of the trip, was a stop for secret meat.

On the way home from the vet, Mom and I had a date with the King.
The Burger King that is!

I got to have a whole burger to myself!
No sharing!

nom, nom, nom

So delicious!!!

The best part is that nobody else knows. It was just me and Mom. While the minions at home ate kibble, I feasted on M-E-A-T!

As great as it was, however, I did decide to decommission the car after that trip.
I decided that I need a more stylish ride. So a couple of days after our liaison with the King, the car bit it.
New sporty ride will be shared in a future post, once I can get my scent deep into the leather, heated seats.

Oops, just realized this isn't a very PETA friendly post, sorry. No buckets of blood please.

Anyway, like I stated in the title, Mom reports lots and lots of Valentines waiting for me and Brigitte, when we get home.
Her and Sluggo are making a Valentines tree with them.

Ours were just mailed out yesterday, so look for them to hit your mailboxes soon!

Peace out.
Wilma, the Burger Queen

Secret Pictures From the Road

Hi everybody! Sluggo here. I've been enjoying my alone time with Mom and Dad since Wilma and Brigitte left for their road trip with Roxy.
Although, it's been more Dad than Mom time because Mom's car finally died and she has been out getting a new one for Wilma.

I don't know if she would do that though if she saw the pictures Wilma texted me from the road. But I will secretly share them with you.
Don't tell the Mom.

Wilma said this one's from when they stopped and picked up Pearl and Daisy. She said Lilo was getting ready to remove her winter coat and go skinny dipping in the jacuzzi, while she decided to put on her polka dot bikini.

Here is Brigitte bar tending. Benny and Lily  are waiting in the lounge area for their pina colada's. This snow bus in unbelievable!
You may have to biggify to read the commentary.
Gee, I'm starting to wish I went after all.

Snowbus bound for all points south!

We have the blender, and have packed the rum and pina colada mix.

The only other things we packed are bikini's baby!

Sluggo says he will stay home with Mommy.

He said her and his sweatervest from Melissa ans Emmett are enough to keep him warm.
Wimp.

Happy Groundpug Da..er Birthday Slugg...uh Sluggy Bee!!!!!

Well, Sluggo the groundpug is afraid of more than just his shadow. So, when he went running scared this morning as soon as he saw us wearing these silly hats, we decided to go with the real deal.

Photo courtesy Getty Images Jeff Swanson

In case you haven't heard, Punxutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow this morning. Only the 16th time since 1887 that he didn't.
He knew better. There would have been a whole case of whoop a** cut loose on him if so much as considered  not issuing an early Spring forecast.

But, on to bigger and better things. It is our Sluggy Bee's Birthday today!

He turns four today, and we are going to have a party to celebrate with the family as soon as we can chop our way out of this ice house.

He did get a new Piggo today. Let's see how long before he kill him.

Happy Birthday Buddy, I really am glad I chose you.
