Wilma' Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"Just because they don't want you on the back of the couch, doesn't mean you shouldn't be there"

That's right. What I am telling you here, is that you need to take your rightful place in the lap of luxury. In this new house, it took me almost a year, so you may have to be patient. Imagine, they thought that because the couch was new, and because we had turned all former couches into giant dog beds, that things would be different this time. Ha! I laugh in the face of that logic. I mean, they bought a pug colored couch for crying out loud. They were weak from the start. That was all I needed to hatch my diabolical plan. First thing I did, was to spend more time out in the other room when they were in there on the couch with the weak ones. This is known as demonstrating higher value. They thought I was being independent, when in all actuality, I was in the process of causing them to need me in there, closer to them. Now, understand this, we were always allowed on the couch. They just didn't want us jumping up onto that perfectly curved, especially soft, ideally sized cushion at the highest level on the couch.
This is the part where you really hafta turn on the charm. If you are like Bellatrix, you can orb them up a little. Pull a few cute snuggle moves. Get them real soft. Then, without them even realizing, preferably during some ridiculously compelling parts of House, you do it. Just jump up settle in, get another impossible to resist looks on your face. For me I just sit there all full of myself and they can't help but be charmed by my confident ways. Whatever you got, use it. Oh sure they might make you get down a couple of times, but you have opened the door. You have created your reality. A reality where you, top dog, get to sit on any piece of furniture, no matter how much it costs. It's only money, you know it, they know it, you are way more important.
So enjoy, remember, be patient, cunning and cute. You can't lose, and you can easily jump down into a lap if you need to.

Disclaimer: I am operating with limited resources. Mom dropped the laptop for the final time, and I am limited in the picture department. I posted this weeks wisdom from the iPad which is still a challenge at best in terms of blogger. Stay tuned for updates.

  1. Wilma,

Your mom sounds like my mom. She drops everything, including the lap top. Fortunately, ours is still working!

  3. Wilma,

Your advice as always is very welcomed. It is very important to trick the humans into letting you sit in your rightful place. Which is anywhere you want it to be. Amen!

  6. Sofa tops IS the best place. Where do you think Mack and I spend time...it's also the best place for looking out to the front yard, etc. We've got to keep an eye on things!

    very good advice, Wilma!

  7. Yes, Wilma, you have reminded us of the importance taking our rightful place on the couch. Too bad our couch is TOTALLY uncomfortable and leather. Ugh. I do insist on being a neck pillow for mom and dad when they are eating (i.e. Parrot Kitty).
