Sluggo's Nemesis

Just like Brigitte has a girlfriend on the other side of the fence, Sluggo's arch nemesis lives behind the other fence in our yard. Sluggo goes nuts every time he hears this guy barking. They have never met mug to mug (and frankly, they won't 'cuz that guy is kind of a d*ck) but whenever he goes outside and starts barking Sluggo starts acting all tough. If we are all out at the same time, Sluggo starts going into fits at the fence. It might be kinda charming, if I didn't know that Sluggo is really a big wimp.

Check out this display...

Note me and Brigitte in the background shouting out orders. We never leftthe comfort of our bed.

Note: Mom promises not to post any more videos until she figures out what the h*ll she's doing. For whatever reason, she cant get rid of the still of Sluggy. Whatever, hire a pro.

Wil's Wednesday Words of Wisdom: 2nd Edition

Listen closely my students...

Our lesson today...

"Leave No Kibble Behind"

Those random errant treats that roll under the stove, or fridge or other large pieces of furniture

They don't go away, they are still there.

You may not be able to see them, but you can smell them.

The challenge lies in getting your human to retrieve it.

*It should go a little something like this...

*The audio on this video may be objectionable to some viewers. The Howard Stern Show was on and Mom was capturing a moment. She is also new to the video posting so bear with her.

Do They Shed?

Do we shed? Do we shed?
You be the judge.

It always makes me laugh when people ask Mom that question.

And this is mostly from me and Britte, Sluggo has a single coat and sheds very little.Especially for a pug. Can you believe Mom still even buys black clothes?

Looks like we are pimping out the products this week. That is a furminator, and we love it.

Rub-a-dub-dub Three Pugs in a Tub

Earth Day evolved into earth week around here pretty quick. Mainly due to the fact that Mom and Dad spent the entire week working outside in the yard or at Grammy and Grampys in the garden. What does that mean to me besides being a migrant farm worker? Bathtime! We pugs got quite dirty out in the yard. Myself supervising, Brigitte and Sluggo working. I've always loved a bath. It means being pampered, all attention on me, I smell good, I get a nice blow dry. Brigitte and Sluggo, not so much. They like to climb up Mom, shake all around, get all freaked out. For what? I couldn't tell ya.

One thing we all agree on is how great our soap is.

Mom and Dad get all their soap at a place called Sunflower Farm . That includes our soap they call Woofie Poo. We love it cuz it smells good and leaves us soft and fluffy. We also love it cuz it repels fleas and ticks. All their other soaps and stuff  leave the humans smelling pretty good too.
So how about you guys? You like baths? What do you use to keep the bugs away? Mom hates the poison flea and tick stuff. So do we.

Wil's Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"Never get out of bed until you hear the kibble hit the bowl."

It's been said, that I am a very wise pug, and I can't really argue that. I've decided it might be nice if  I started sharing some of my wisdom with all my peeps.
So on Wednesdays ( clearly, due to the catchy sounding post title) I will start to bestow said enlightmment upon you all.
Let me know what you think, and feel free to share any of your own insights. Because let's face it, we all know that pugs, in particular, have a very high level of intellegence. Why not share with the mortals.

Here's to Penny

We all had some whippy in honor of Penny today. It was Winston (smiling pug) over at Two cats and a pugs' idea to make today Sexy Whipped Cream Sunday to celebrate Penny's life. I'll tell you what, that whippy is some good sh*t. Penny sure knew how to party. What you don't know is that I was really devoted to making this about Penny. Normally these guys could never eat this close to me without me tearing up some fur. I am normally secluded during intake of foodables. I did it for you Penny.

In Memoryof a Beefy, SexyPug

The pug community has suffered a great loss. A dear special pug named Penny had to pass over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She will be dearly missed by all who grew to know and love her, and our deepest sympathy goes out to her beloved Mom Dana.

If you would like to light a virtual candle in memory of Penny, please follow this link Light a Candle for Penny
You can go to the group PD for Penny and Dana to light a special candle for her. I wish there was a site for virtual whipped cream shots, but this is still a nice way to honor our friend.

Please stop by  Beefy Pug to offer Penny's Mom Dana your support.

All you pugs out there, love your people a little extra today , and try to be good!
All the best, Wilma, Brigitte and Sluggo

Mystery Puke

This post is mainly for those of you living in multiple pug homes. Humans, does any of this sound familiar?

It's been a long day, you're tired, ready for bed and you head up to retire for the evening. You climb under the covers and snuggle in. You start to drift off almost immediately, when you hear a familiar sound. Up you sit, you turn on the light only to find one of your pig dogs scarfing down a nice big pile of puke.
Great, time to strip the bed, discard of the biohazardous material, start the washing machine and remake the bed. Still tired? I didn't think so.
Here's my questions:
Which one of your parents deals with this situation?
Which one begins gagging and contributes to the mess?
How far do they go to determine the contributor. Examine contents? Smell breath? Check mouths?

Just curious. If you haven't figured it out on your own, we had an episode.
My guess, it was Sluggo, there was lambie stuffing in it. I didn't care, tasted good to me

Finally Asparagus

Like around 10 years ago Dad agreed to allow for the room to plant asparagus in the garden. Mom was only asking for about 18 years. Now, after all that waiting, ( you can't harvest asparagus until many years after you plant it) it's here!

It really doesn't smell like much. I was hoping it would smell like the chicken poop that Dad uses in the garden, but it really doesn't. I love to roll in the poop garden, it smells like heaven. But Mom and Dad never let me. They so don't know how to have fun. I am hoping to get a taste of  this highly acclaimed vegetable.Mom says she must confirm that it's ok for puggys to eat. I will let you know.
By the way, this in no way constitutes an garden entry like my Dad is planning. He will be on vacation soon and he told me he will write one then. In the mean time, I will keep you abreast of any relevant news from the fields.

Finding Brigittte

OK folks as much as we fantasized about the idea of leaving Brigitte behind at the park, me and Sluggo could never actually do such a horrible thing. We were not part of the problem in fact, but part of the solution.

We searched high

We searched low

We searched far and wide

We looked in her favorite spot at Mommy's feet

We even thought to grill some meat

Just when we thought there was no hope left, Sluggo called me over to the fenceShe was right under our noses the whole time.

Next door with her girlfriend Meekus!

As not to misrepresent the parties involved, the last shot with the pug and lab are actually body doubles. Brigitte and Meekus  haven't slowed down long enough for Mom to capture a decent shot.

Another FYI...Flat Puglets visit with us was posted on his website flatpuglet.com yesterday April 8th

We Interupt This Mystery for a Very Important Announcement

I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. Over the weekend Mom and Dad were working in the garden, turning over the soil, and they found these!

Yes, those are potatoes. They are from last years crop, they survived, and grew over the winter. Now, judging from the fanfare, this was very exciting for the  humans. I was like...eh, whatever. Can I eat 'em?

What's got me so amped up is this idea I had while going over seed catalogs with Dad. You see, truth be told, my Dad is an awesome organic vegetable farmer.

Dad has flirted with the idea of blogging about it but the garden keeps him very busy. This garden is at my Grammy and Grampy's house. We didn't have enough sun at our old house to grow much. Now that we've moved, we are going to attempt some veggies atour new house. Dad will continue to garden at Grammy and Grampy's too. So now he will be even busier. So I thought, what if  Dad was a guest blogger on my blog? He could write about his garden when he was inspired to do it, but not be obligated to post all the time.

He accepted my offer!!! Now, this announcement may be premature, because I don't know when he will start to write, but I was bursting at the seams with excitement and just had to tell someone.

Fear not B fans, I will reveal her whereabouts soon. She is not in harms way I can assure you of that.

Adventures at Hopbrook

"Hey guys, look what I found!"

"You too Brigitte, check this out!"

"What?! My Mommy, my Mommy, my Mommy!!"

"C'mon Wilma, let's go get her. Just jump through the hole. Like this"

How About Some Props for the Under Appreciated

I'd like to say that these ladies don't get nearly enough credit for all the hard work they do that enables that Bunny to have something to do on Easter.

This guy too.

Mostly, they are being recognized  because Mom slacked on getting any good pictures of us for Easter. Nevertheless, I'm sure they appreciate the shout out.

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebrating with the ones you love.
