Another splendid weekend was had in my world.
It started with a trip to a new dog park on Saturday, but I can't wait to tell you about yesterday, so I will tell you about the park next time.
Yesterday was the Pug Rescue of New England annual Pug Social.
It was up in Spencer Mass. so we had to get an early start.
It was totally worth it!
There was like over 500 pugs at this event.
There were young ones just a few months old to one senior we met who was 17!
It was perfect pug weather.
Sunny and cool.
We entered the costume contest, but the competition was tough!
Here is a medical crew replete with a patient on IV's
At one point he tried to escape against medical advise.
Mom snagged him up. Always the nurse.
Elvis, The King was in the building!
Chia pug
Cinderella
Herbie the love pug. This little guy has real wheels on that bug.
Hula pug
Her costume was all hand crocheted
Harry Potter
Dorothy on her yellow brick road, with ruby slippers and music coming out of her ride.
Plus she had the tin man, cowardly lion and the scarecrow!
They won first prize in the group themed category.
Pugs in lambs clothing
These two were as tender and cuddly as real lambs.
There was even a pug rescue vehicle with a nurse and patient!
That was just a small sampling of all the costumed pugs, and that was only the start of the fun.
Soon after we arrived, my friends Chauncey, Elliot and Remy came.
Chauncey in his chair
Here's Remy looking very Napoleanesque
and beefcake Elliot, when he first arrived
So, you may be thinking, wow what a great day, must be time to leave...
But noooooooo...
there's more!
Now how much would you pay?
This next part was one of the best parts of the day. We met Jessica, James Dean and Ringo from
They were there with their beautiful hats, neck warmers and other wonderful hand crafted items.
Doesn't he look adorable?
Jessica her Mom and her boyfriend Jeremy are just as sweet in person as they seem on their blog.Even more so, I would say. In fact, I am not exaggerating when I tell you that Sluggo lit up when he met her.
Prior to that he was acting like his timid neurotic self, but meeting Jessica turned that frown around!
And I am happy to report that they had one of the busiest vending tables at the party!
Brigitte, Sluggo, JD and me.
JD and I were discussing the pros and cons of being famous.
Isn't James Dean dreamy?
A side view for another look
Ringo was actually the smart one though.
His Mom was having some lunch and he was right there with her, making sure nothing dropped on the ground to attract ants.
Just when you think it couldn't get better than that...
My little Sluggo won runner up in the most wrinkly contest.
See his medal?
So yup, it was awesome. I can't wait for next year!
Oh sweet HEAVENS, Wilma! That looks like the FUNNEST DAY EVER!
