Wilma's Wednesday Words of Wisdom

"Good help is hard to find"

This information is nothing new, you have all probably heard some human mutter this phrase as an aside after an encounter with a rude sales clerk, or after picking up shirts with starched collars when they specifically asked for no starch.

I am sure these things are important on some level to the humans, but seriously, truer words couldn't be spoken, especially when it comes to finding someone who by their very nature will make your life easier.
I must say, I have been blessed with a very loyal and obedient staff. Rarely do I have to issue any kind of warning (as evidenced by a poop on the rug, or perhaps a stolen lambie), and thus far, no one has been fired.

Take for example, the other day. The Mom had gone out and come back with bags filled with food. Always a good day. I was curious what exactly was in the bags, but I also was very comfortable in my seat. Another concern I had was that there may not have been any meat in the bags. Mom has been bringing home a lot less meat these days. Her and Dad have been talking about this time, before I was in their world, that they didn't eat meat. They are talking about doing that again, and I am fundamentally against it. But, I digress.
My point was, I needed to know what was in the bags, and I didn't want to waste the energy if it wasn't anything good.
Enter Sluggo.

Nope, no meat in here.

No meat here either, but I smell cheese.

You're right, no meat.

Oh yeah, there it is, cheese.

So you see, by having a wing man, so to speak. I was able to ascertain, that there was indeed good reason for me to get up from my comfortable perch, without unnecessarily lifting a paw.

So, I guess what I'm saying, is choose your help wisely. Surround yourself with people willing to do whatever it takes to provide you with the lifestyle of comfort and pleasure that you so deserve.
I know a good number of you have this lesson down pat. Lest you forget, I am catering to the masses here. The every pug.

Oh, and just in case there was any question, I got the cheese.

  1. Such good words of wisdom. Cheese? We don't think we have ever had that before. We must beg the pawrents for this next time they have some.

  5. Yoda and Brutus,
Cheese is good, very, very good. But unfortunately,in very small doses and low fat is better for us. A lot of dogs don't do so good with the dairy. But when you do get a little, oh boy, is it ever good!

    Hi Maggie Mae,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by and I will sign you right up for the club!

  6. Hi Wilma - Izzy sent me over to see about joining the Sunflower Sista's Club. I am not pug or a girl, but I really hope you will let me join - Izzy said she thought it would be OK. I am a very sensitive guy and am in touch and comfortable with my feminine side. I think Izzy will back me up if I need references.

    Your pal, Pip

P.S.: I am your newest follower. Hope you will check out my blog when you have a chance.

  9. You rule Wilma, literally! It is all about proper management. Mind control and subliminal suggestions are key. For instance..all one needs to do is whine and pretend to scratch at something, acting like you can't reach it. The humans will reach and get it every time. Didn't even have to get my paw dirty.
