Wilma's Wednesday Words of Wisdom

" We are all precious gifts to one another"

I know, I know, pretty syrupy wisdom this week. What can I say? I'm feeling a little soft.
It seems to me, that lately I have been hearing more about some of our friends being sick or going to the rainbow bridge.
This has given me pause to reflect on how lucky we as companions to our people are.
We are fed, praised, groomed, provided with health care. We are stroked, walked, socialized and loved.
We blog stars get photographed, filmed, our stories are shared among friends, families and even strangers.
We are given a voice.

What do our people get in return? Besides some big vet bills, soiled carpets, pet hair on every item of clothing?

They get our unconditional love and adoration. Even if sometimes we serve it up with a little attitude.
From my perspective, they get more laughter and smiles per day.
It is an amazing symbiotic relationship, like no other.

One that deserves a little recognition from time to time.
One that needs to be reflected on and appreciated.
For we don't know how long we will have each other.

So my dear friends, give your people an extra lick today, look them in the eye and let them know you love them. Give them a nudge and have them take an extra minute to soak up your love.

We will all be better for it.

  4. Wilma, you are wise beyond your years. I'm touched by your words today and you've certainly made me smile. Oh, and your words work for your furry feline cousins as well. :)

  6. We are very blessed little brats. Mom reminds of us that every day. When we don't want to share with Quincy and Isabelle. They didn't have a great life until MAPR got them. So we begrudgingly share our awesome existence with them. This will help us try to remember to be good to our mom and to the fosters.

Your heart is so beautiful to say these words.
You speak right from the heart, and I appreicate you taking the time ,, to give us all a moment to stop and listen and contemplate and appreciate those around us.
The world needs more love, and less hate, and jealousy.
The world needs more love and words said to each other,,, to say,,,, I am here for you,,, or just
i love you. see ,,, you made me think, again.

  9. Wilma;
If you had gone to church this weekend you'd have heard a sermon on appreciating those whom you love and being sure to tell them when they've done something you like. Maybe you wrote the sermon for the priest! In any case these are great ideas. We humans don't do enough of it. Let's all start today!
